Main Street Construction, led by Peter Garber, is a family-owned contracting firm based in Ellensburg, Washington, known for craftsmanship and commitment to client satisfaction. With an emphasis on professionalism, integrity, and competence, we hope to earn your trust as a partner for all your construction needs.

Peter has loved carpentry and woodworking for as long as he can remember. At sixteen, while still completing his high school education, he started working for a construction company doing both residential and commercial interior trim, siding, and the occasional framing job. His 24 years of experience since then includes custom staircases in San Francisco’s Bay Area, high-end remodeling in central CA, custom cabinets and millwork in CA and MT, water and fire restorations in central WA, remodeling and home additions in middle TN.

At Main Street Construction, we have built a solid subcontractor team. Our professionals bring a wide range of experience and expertise, ensuring that every aspect of your project is handled with care and precision.

We understand that construction projects can be overwhelming, which is why we prioritize communication throughout the process. With a focus on building lasting relationships and exceeding expectations, we have developed proven processes with you in mind.

About our process

  • The first step to a beautiful home makeover is a site visit so we can learn about the nature and scope of the project.

  • After we have as much information as we need we draft construction drawings and models, if needed, and an itemized project budget.

  • Once we have an approved budget for a particular project or phase we apply for appropriate building permits.

  • Next a project timeline is drawn up which shows when each part of the project will begin and be completed.

  • At the same time a payment schedule is created which shows how payments correspond to completion of each phase of a project.

    • Sometimes a subcontractor or vendor requires a deposit to guarantee availability at a given time. This type of payment is also indicated in the payment schedule.

    • Occasionally, we have clients that choose to purchase specific building elements or fixtures outside of a contract. These can be shown in a separate column of the payment schedule.

  • From this point the project simply follows the sequence outlined in the timeline.

We believe clarity and transparency about each party’s expectations substantially reduces the stress of an investment in your home.
